Safeway trip 3-25-11

I've never tried the Safeway Brand of food, but for $5.98 for all this why not give it a try.

Safeway Firecracker Appetizer $2.99
Safeway Mexican Style Lasagna $6.99

Safeway Chocolate Covered Bananas $.99 (clearance bin)

Total Cost $15.96

Used $5 off $15 Frozen food in ad coupon (found in Wednesday Safeway ad)
Used $9.99 Safeway Select Complete Meal coupon (from the Over $42 in savings Safeway Coupon booklet)  make sure you get the right items and the right oz sizes if you use this coupon.  this coupon is on the inside of the front cover of the booklet.

If you decide to do this, make sure you give them the $5 off $15 coupon first.

The Store Manager was my cashier for this transaction and he was super cool when I rang up the 3 items and was $.03 short of hitting the $15 so I told him I would be right back.  He wanted to know what I was trying to do and I told him hit $15 in frozen food products.  He grabbed the ad while I ran back to the clearance bin in the frozen section and grabbed the chocolate covered bananas. 

When I got back the Manager told me he felt bad as he hadn't let people use the $5 off $15 correctly all day as he didn't understand it.  Now that I was using it this way he got it and told me he had turned others away as he didn't realize it was on any frozen item. 

He rang us up and was very impressed at the total $5.98. 

This was a great experience using coupons and getting a good deal! 

I have already made the appetizer and hubby likes them!  We are going to eat the Lasagna for dinner if it's any good I will be going back to Safeway tomorrow to get more complete dinners at this low cost!  I'm sure the girls will love the desserts.

The Safeway Select Pizzas are $4.49 each.   I haven't tried these either, but just might if this deal works out!

Total  $13.47 -  then find something else frozen that is at least $1.53 to get you to $15 total.
